Pandemic Perambulation

With the lockdown still in full effect and a recovery day on the cards for me I decided to make the most of my allocated outdoor exercise with a nice easy walk. It was chilly in the breeze and there were April showers promised so I had a raincoat with me just in case as I headed off to the Cors Fochno Nature Reserve and back.

Once away from the coast things warmed up considerably so it was soon ‘T’-shirt weather as I headed out onto the boardwalks. There was of course no one around (I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else here in fact) so it was a perfect way to maintain social distancing whilst getting some fresh air.

The wildlife was out in force. There was what looked like a peregrine falcon swooping from the sky at one point, plenty of bugs and butterflies and even a little family of pheasants scampering about in the tussocky grass beside the walkway.

There were plenty of views of Borth and Ynyslas from a different angle too and some welcome shade in under the trees.

I headed out to the estuary on the way back and then over the dunes and onto the beach. Not a bad way to spend an extended lunch hour during a pandemic.
