Autumnal Surf Ski

After a summer of flat water, small waves and nice warm temperatures it was good to get out for a surf ski in some slightly more intimidating conditions. 3 foot messy surf left over from storm Bronagh and enough of a southerly wind to kick up some chop. It wasn’t warm out there either. The wind died off later and the waves cleaned up a little for a nice session powering out through the waves and then riding them back in.

I managed to break my foot-strap which made staying on whilst side-swiped by the whitewater a little difficult. I may have stretched my leg leash beyond its elastic limit too. Time to revert to just a paddle leash for the waves and keeping out of everyone’s way. It’s looking fairly quiet out there weather-wise for next week so hopefully I’ll have a few more easy sessions before storm Callum hits our shores.
