Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon Photos 2009

Well done to all those who competing in and completed the Llyn Vyrnwy Half Marathon yesterday. Hope you all managed the times you were aiming for and more importantly enjoyed yourselves.

My photos are now online ready for all to see: Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon Photos 2009

Here are a few as a taster, but the link above takes you to the whole album. They are ordered and titled by runner number so you should be able to find yourself fairly easily. There are a few here and there where I couldn’t see the number, these should be on the last page of the gallery.

Feel free to use the images on your personal blogs or for non-commercial purposes, but please keep the copyright watermark in place. You can buy a full size, non-watermarked digital image from the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon Photos 2009.

There are getting on for 600 photos in the album so I have had to reduce the size and quality of them quite a bit for the web. Sorry if I missed you, but I couldn’t get everyone.

    Alan,
Thanks for the photo, it looks great. You asked for some feedback and I have nothing but positive things to say so thought you wouldn’t mind if I posted it here.

First up the photo itself is excellent and the ordering process simple. You also got the photo to me in good time. The quality of the photo is much better than that of the online sample so I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived in my inbox. In fact, for my purposes it was probably much larger and higher resolution than I’ll ever need, so maybe you should think about offering a smaller ‘web-ready’ version and then a larger high resolution image (at a slightly higher cost).

Talking of cost, the price of £3.50 is great, much cheaper than elsewhere (Don’t change that!!!)

Thanks for the feedback Mark and some good ideas there too. I’m looking into offering prints and other items such as mouse-mats, mugs etc. so maybe offering two versions of the digital image would be an option too.. Although I don’t want to make things too complicated for me or the people buying them.

As far as the quality of the online sample goes then you are right. I made them really small amd low quality so as to cut down on storage space and bandwidth, but in hindsight probably went a little over the top. It’s a learning process for me so next time I think I’ll make the samples a little better quality because the low quality of the samples from the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon may have put some people off buying them. As you say, the actual images are much better. (Prospective buyers take note!)

Glad you liked the photo, and thanks for buying one! It isn’t making me rich, but it all helps.

    Al.
