Good Morning Ynyslas
Summer is back and temperatures are soaring. Yesterday was lovely here at Ynyslas with a gorgeous quiet morning.
I spent most of the day in the garden, doing a few chores, catching up with things, and generally tidying up. It’s become a lovely, peaceful place to sit these days. Not that I’m very good at just sitting there, but it’s nicely sheltered and private now that we’ve finally managed to get a few things growing above head height — not as easy as it sounds in Ynyslas, and it’s only taken 20 years to get there!
There’s a nice patch of shade under the oak tree too — a tree we grew from an acorn. It’s now quite a big tree, which is a satisfying thing to say. I topped up the pond while I was at it. With the recent lack of rain it was looking a bit low, so I added some rainwater from the butts (not tap water, of course). Things are looking good, and the bees were busy doing their thing, buzzing happily around the garden.

I went out for a short bike ride in the afternoon, and later, when Anna came home with an Ioniq 5 to test drive, we headed to the beach for a swim. The sea is as warm as it ever gets here. Usually it’s just slightly less cold than normal, but at the moment it’s actually warm, so no wetsuit has been required — even for a decent-length swim.
The Ioniq 5 looks nice. Anna thinks it feels quite big and I’ve yet to actually drive it, but there’s lots of room inside, I like the styling and it has a nice spaceship-like dashboard. Features and range should be pretty similar to the Kona that we’ve currently got, but it has a larger boot, more room inside. It’s not quite as fast, but the Kona was crazy fast for some reason!
