Rheidol Valley Geocaching

Morgan and I had another day geocaching on Thursday. This time we started in the Rheidol Valley. First stop was a quick cache near to the riding stables in Capel Bangor and then we were off into the Rheidol Valley proper  where we stopped at 7 other caches. Several of these were part of a series called the Cwm Rheidol Expedition. Each of these had a two letter clue in them that will lead us to a final bonus cache that appears to be located in Aberystwyth – presumably somewhere near to the mouth of the Rheidol.

We managed to find them all so have the clues and will soon be off to find the bonus cache. We did DNF on another cache in the Rheidol Valley though ‘Good to Talk’ which should have been easy, but had us stumped.

I also taught Morgan how to skim stones and he managed to throw his first ever ‘skimmer’ – It then took a bit of persuasion to drag him away as he wanted to skim all day – I can understand that!

Next we headed off into the hills a little for a couple of caches near Capel Madog and then through Pen Bont Rhydebeddau and up towards Salem for another cache. We DNF’d on one other whilst up there, but altogether found 9 out of 11 which isn’t a bad haul.
