Anniversary Breakfast

It was our wedding anniversary on Sunday, but as we were camping in Shropshire and riding in the Marshbrook CRC MTB Marathon we decided to have a day out on our own on Monday as well.

Anna took the day off work, as did I, and we dropped Morgan off at school. We felt a little guilty doing this, but it is nice to have a day on our own once a year. We then headed down the coast to the Harbour Master Hotel in Aberaeron where we stopped for a delicious breakfast. The food was good, but the atmosphere and quality of the service is what really makes the place. It is well known for being an award winning restaurant and hotel offering locally sourced meals and it was our first visit. Hopefully we’ll be back soon though to sample some of their evening meals as well.

We then wandered around Aberaeron in the sunshine before driving further south where we stopped off at Llanarth Garden Centre. Unfortunately it wasn’t up to much and there was nothing there that caught our eye so we left empty handed. Next stop was supposed to be the Honey Farm in Newquay. We’d been here once before on our anniversary but now that we are beekeepers though we’d make another visit and look at it with new eyes. We didn’t have much luck here either as it is closed on Mondays. Instead we headed back home and had a quiet afternoon before collecting Morgan from school.

Morgan was none the wiser about our day out without him!
