MTB Race Calendar 2010

Ystwyth MTB Rider

Despite the amount of snow on the ground its time to start thinking about which MTB races I’m going to do this year. I don’t do them that seriously as I’m not that good, but ‘competing’ in them is always fun and it gives me something to aim towards.

I’m not sure which ones I’ll do yet, but the current list of possibilities is:

  • Mawddach Goldrush – Sunday March 7th
  • Hell of the North Cotswolds (HONC) – Sunday April 11th
  • Dyfi Enduro – 1st May bank holiday Sunday
  • Roughride – Sunday June 11th
  • Mountain Mayhem – Friday June 18th to Sunday June 20th
  • SITS – 1st weekend in August
  • IOM E2E – Sunday 12th September
  • Brecon Beast – In September

I’m unlikely to do them all and some others may join the list soon once the Bristol contingent decide which races they are doing. It would be nice to do the Mawddach Goldrush again this year, but this time as a solo entry rather than part of a team. The Dyfi Enduro is a must as its our local race and the Isle of Man End 2 End would be good too as we can hopefully make it coincide with a family visit and there are a few friends / family members on the Isle of Man who are likely to be doing it as well.

I shall also try to get to few events throughout the year as ‘MTB event photographer‘ as I had some fun days out in the hills taking photos and subsequently selling them last year whilst laid off due to illness.
