The Garden Chores Begin
The mild weather and lengthening days mean that the grass has started to grow already. The daffodils are out earlier than usual, and on the odd occasion that the sun comes out, things are looking decidedly Spring like.
The bees are flying, the rhubarb is ready for harvesting and buds are breaking on the trees. Time therefore to make a start on the garden. First task at the weekend was to bring Harriet and Yuki our robot mowers out of hibernation. A quick reinstallation of their charging stations went smoothly. I plugged them in and after a few minutes charging and they were ready to go. Harriet set off first to get the front garden under control and Yuki followed soon after not he back. Things don’t usually go that smoothly where tech is involved but they just started up and got on with it. Before long they had both made short-work of the long, damp grass. You can see progress as Yuki cuts the long grass from is onboard cameras!
Meanwhile I started tidying up some borders, removing clumps of grass and weds from them, giving them a little fork over and adding some mulch. Weeds were pulled from the gravelled areas too and the pampus grass given a drastic cut back to keep it under control.
It might not be huge amounts of work done, but between the three of us we have made a start.
