Cleaning your Garmin Forerunner

Not content with washing my iPod earphones in the washing machine, I accidently put my £130 Garmin Foreunner through a standard 40 degree wash cycle and 1200rpm spin cycle yesterday! Probably not a great idea, but it looks fairly clean and still seems to work!

I’ve been putting off using it whilst windsurfing as I wasn’t sure how waterproof it would be, but if it can withstand an hour or so in the washing machine then I guess it’ll be OK in the sea too.

As I say, not recommended, but good to know that it is fairly robust.

Great to know. I didn’t use my 305 for Tri as it says it’s not
waterproof – will try it out next time I’m out on the board!!!
