We’re actually quite a lot drier here on the coast than in the rest of Wales. We never get that much rain so making comparisons with the...

Well, after a very dry April the rain in May has certainly made up for it. It feels as though it’s been raining non-stop for weeks here in West Wales. So far in May, the Borth & Ynyslas Weather Station has reported 123mm of rain. The usual average rainfall for the month of May in...

That didn’t really feel like a bank holiday weekend. I think its the fact that things still aren’t back to normal due to Coronavirus. We can’t complain though as it had everything we needed. Cycling, running, kayaking, swimming in crystal clear waters, a walk at RSPB Ynyshir, windsurfing, a Spicery meal and some rain at...

The 2018 drought and heatwave continues. There was a brief respite over the past few days and that maybe partly my fault. The lack of rain prompted me to do some work on the Borth & Ynyslas weather station website pages by adding a ‘rainfall’ data page. For some reason I never added this when I...

The North Wales Surf Ski Paddlers were also thinking of organising some low-key, informal surf ski races over the winter so I suggested they do them on the same weekend. That way, those of us...

Walking in the rain in Snowdonia is one thing, but the conditions yesterday were ridiculous! It was my birthday on Friday so rather than just go out for drinks or a meal, or as we usually do just stay at home and do nothing, I came up with the idea of getting a few friends together...
