Yep, it’s been the same here as far as them producing their own queens. I think last year was just too wet for them to get out and mate though.
We’re going to leave them and hope the weather helps.

Our bees have always done well producing their own queens, apart from last year when several weeks of rain and cold resulted in an unmated virgin. I think sunshine is predicted until mid-July.
