{"id":9665,"date":"2012-02-18T07:53:07","date_gmt":"2012-02-18T07:53:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/?p=9665"},"modified":"2012-02-18T07:53:07","modified_gmt":"2012-02-18T07:53:07","slug":"back-to-it-almost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2012\/02\/back-to-it-almost\/","title":{"rendered":"Back to it&#8230; Almost"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After an enforced break from triathlon training last week in preparation for a <a title=\"Triathlons, Statins and CPK Levels\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2012\/triathlons-statins-and-cpk-levels\/\">CPK Levels blood test<\/a> on Tuesday, I was immediately back to it and raring to go.<\/p>\n<h2>Tuesday<\/h2>\n<p>Straight after the blood-letting at the hospital it time for an hour or hard core circuit training followed by an hour of swimfit. <\/p>\n<h2>Wednesday<\/h2>\n<p>Wednesday was a very hard, hilly 7.5 mile run in which I went all out on some of the climbs. I&#8217;ve only ran this particular route a few times but I managed to\u00a0beat my PB on most of the climbs and managed to knock a couple of minutes off my overall time for the route as well.<br \/>\n<iframe width='465' height='548' frameborder='0' src='http:\/\/connect.garmin.com:80\/activity\/embed\/149708167'><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>My legs were then suffering a little by the evening, and the ankle in which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2011\/excerise-its-not-good-for-you\/\" title=\"Exercise - It's not good for you!\">I tore some ligaments<\/a> last year was pretty sore, but \u00a0I&#8217;d arranged a night ride on our Mountain Bikes, so ended up going on that too. It was the first time I&#8217;d been on my MTB properly for ages, but I met\u00a0met Dave, John, Chuck and Dave halfway up the hill towards Pendam and we set off in the dark for a ride. Dave R hadn&#8217;t been out for a while either, and Dave P was new to the area so it wasn&#8217;t going to be a fast paced ride which was good for me.\u00a0We rode up to Pendam and from there did the Summit Trail. I was a little tentative on the descents at first but got back into the swing of things on the Mark of Zoro and then started to enjoy myself. The climbs were OK and I even went back down the Legburner to ride back to the others so rode part of it twice.<\/p>\n<p>It was good to be back out on the mountain bike again.<\/p>\n<h2>Thursday<\/h2>\n<p>On Thursday I noticed that the MOT on my car had expired, so spent much of the day trying to get that sorted whilst taking Morgan skate-boarding too. That left the evening for training so I joined the INTRtri coached swim session in Machynlleth and seemed to be flying. I haven&#8217;t swam that well for a while. It felt easy, I was able to go hard and put in some really good splits. Happy with that.<\/p>\n<h2>Friday<\/h2>\n<p>Friday was always going to be a busy day with a long day out at Chester Zoo planned. I didn&#8217;t sleep a single wink all night on Thursday, so got up at 5am, had a coffee and then jumped on the turbo trainer for a relatively hard hour workout, followed immediately by a 25 minute steady run around the dunes. I was still feeling OK, but my left ankle was really sore with some sharp shooting pains in it now and then. Once home, I strapped it up and we spent the day wandering around Chester Zoo for Morgans birthday treat.<\/p>\n<h2>Saturday<\/h2>\n<p>My ankle is still sore and strapped, I shall try running on it later, but if it hurts I shall have to replace todays planned run with a turbo trainer session instead and give my ankle some R&amp;R. Annoying really as I&#8217;m still keen to get on with it and pick up the training, but my various war wounds won&#8217;t allow it and keep holding me back.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After an enforced break from triathlon training last week in preparation for a CPK Levels blood test on Tuesday, I was immediately back to it and raring to go.
