It&#8217;s that lull between Halloween and Christmas so not much is happpening. We&#8217;ve been buying presents but I can&#8217;t mention those for fear of giving the game away. We&#8217;ve avoided the <a title=\"Aberystwyth Fun Fair 2011\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2011\/aberystwyth-fun-fair-2011\/\">funfair in Aberystwyth<\/a> this year. Morgan keeps asking if he can go but we can&#8217;t really afford it so have decided to give it a miss. My training is fairly quiet too as I&#8217;m just doing some fairly steady base level work to keep me ticking over during the winter. I haven&#8217;t been out mountain biking and I haven&#8217;t been windsurfing either. I have had the odd surf though as the surf seems to have been &#8216;going off&#8217; for weeks.<\/p>\n<p>I did manage to get out for a little sail today as well. I&#8217;d hoped to get out yesterday but the wind didn&#8217;t co-operate, so I was desperate today. Once again the wind wasn&#8217;t up to much so I decided to rummage through the shed and try to find some big kit. I ended up with my big Starboard S-Type 104 ltr and a massive 6.7m Gun Jam sail. I wandered across to the beach, rigged up, and yep, you&#8217;ve guessed&#8230;. the wind filled in. It wasn&#8217;t that bad though with gusts to just over 25 knots. I was pretty powered up mind you but not so much that I was having trouble hanging on, and in the odd lull I was glad of the bigger kit. The big board and sail were a bit of a liability in amongst the waves, but out the back where the water was just choppy it was a lovely little session, blasting along in the sunshine.<\/p>\n<p>It looks as though there is plenty more wind on its way as well, so hopefully I&#8217;ll be able to get some smaller equipment out over the weekend, and after a little go on this big kit it should feel lovely!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"369\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uZylziauB4g\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We haven&#8217;t really been up to much lately.
