{"id":7350,"date":"2011-03-21T13:37:27","date_gmt":"2011-03-21T13:37:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/?p=7350"},"modified":"2011-03-21T10:55:02","modified_gmt":"2011-03-21T10:55:02","slug":"march-moths-in-ceredigion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2011\/03\/march-moths-in-ceredigion\/","title":{"rendered":"March Moths in Ceredigion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Arial} p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Arial; min-height: 14.0px} -->I haven&#8217;t had the moth trap out much again lately, but after spending a weekend in the garden and even mowing the lawn, things looked good for a night of moth trapping so I put it out on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n<p>I checked on it a couple of times before going to bed and although conditions were perfect with little wind, warm temperatures and a slight dampness in the air there were no moths around, except a solitary Shoulder Stripe.<\/p>\n<p>I checked again in the morning though and it was looking better. The trap was surrounded by Shoulder Stripes and there seemed to be quite a it in the trap itself as well. 11 different species, one of them a new garden record and 56 moths in total.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 x Mottled Grey<\/li>\n<li>7 x Dotted Border<\/li>\n<li>34 x Shoulder stripe<\/li>\n<li>2 x Common Quaker<\/li>\n<li>1 x Double-striped Pug<\/li>\n<li>1 x Engrailed<\/li>\n<li>2 x Clouded Drab<\/li>\n<li>1 x Herald<\/li>\n<li>2 x Hebrew Character<\/li>\n<li>1 x Small Quaker<\/li>\n<li>3 x <em>Emmelina monodactyla<\/em> (New Garden
