Today a large parcel with a whole load of beekeeping supplies arrived in the post.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hoffman Frames for the Brood boxes x20<\/li>\n<li>Wax Foundation for the Brood Frames x 20<\/li>\n<li>Standard Super Frames for the Supers x 40<\/li>\n<li>Wax Foundation for the Super Frames x 40<\/li>\n<li>A J-shaped Hive tool<\/li>\n<li>A heavy Duty Hive Tool<\/li>\n<li>Jumbo National Feeders x2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That should be enough frames for all 4 supers (if we are lucky enough to need them all this summer), and plenty for the brood boxes too. In fact we&#8217;ll probably have 10 spare Brood Box Frames as the new bees will arrive on frames of their own. We also don&#8217;t really need two hive tools, but there will be 3 of us using them and it will give us a chance to see which type we like best, and also allow us to lose one as that is bound to happen.<\/p>\n<p>We hopefully won&#8217;t need to do too much feeding either, at east not to start with but we thought it only fair to have the feeders in ready just in case we need them.<\/p>\n<p>We also have a smoker on order and I guess we&#8217;ll need to buy some suger \/ feeding syrup for the bees as well just in case the look hungry over the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>I now have to build all of the frames &#8211; trouble is I forgot to order any nails with them so I can&#8217;t do it quite yet.<noscript><a href=\"http:\/\/ws.amazon.co.uk\/widgets\/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&#038;MarketPlace=GB&#038;ID=V20070822%2FGB%2Falslikklworls%2F8010%2F0d37d912-34da-453d-9942-3cc13d139f4d&#038;Operation=NoScript\">Amazon.co.uk Widgets<\/a><\/noscript><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the arrival of our new beehives last weekend, and the order of our new bees that should arrive in May, we thought we&#8217;d better order all the supplies and tools that we&#8217;ll need for our new adventure into the world of beekeping.
