We had a busy night last night, but got to see the Aberystwyth Round Table fireworks.<\/p>\n
We didn’t pay to go in as we’d paid to see the Machynlleth fireworks display<\/a> last weekend, it was pouring with rain and we have a bonfire party to go to tonight as well. So, we though we’d watch them from the comfort of our car. We collected Morgan, headed to KFC where we bought a boneless banquet (negating my run from earlier in the day<\/a>!) and then drove up the hill towards the Welsh Books Council which overlooks Aberystwyth fo a good vantage point.<\/p>\n We weren’t the only ones with this idea as the entire road was packed full of steamed up cars with people waiting for the fireworks to start. It was difficult to find somewhere to park but we managed it in the end, ate our take-away and waited for the fireworks.<\/p>\n The fireworks were pretty good, although not as good as the Machynlleth ones last weekend and watching from a distance isn’t as good as being there for real but it does give a different view of them which was nice.<\/p>\n On the way there I had explained to Morgan the difference between the speed of light and the speed of sound telling him that as we’d be about a mile away we would see the flash of the fireworks before we heard the sound. We weren’t that<\/em> far away but even for us it was surprising just how much of a lag there was.<\/p>\n I was lazy with the photos as well first taking them through a wet windscreen which didn’t work and then didn’t change my lens so I didn’t get any decent photos, but we had fun, kept dry and enjoyed the display.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
