Autumn is here in style. I really do love this time of year.<\/p>\n

There is lots to do with Halloween, lantern parades, bonfire and firework parties, harvest festivals and plenty going on elsewhere. The trees look amazing, my drive down to South Wales yesterday for a MTB ride at Cwmcarn<\/a> was spectacular. The route follows the River Wye from Llangurig, through Rhayader, Builth Wells and on towards Abergavenny and the whole way is lined with trees of glorious autumn colours. The colours were helped by the early morning sun here and there, but even when the clouds were low and the weather a typical welsh grey, the trees lifted the mood and made it look lovely.<\/p>\n

I was in a rush so didn’t take any photos but I could have spent all day photographing the autumnal display along here – Well worth the drive just for that.<\/p>\n

I even like the fact that the clocks go back to ‘proper’ time rather than BST so that we get nice long dark evenings. I now most people hate the dark evenings but I quite like them. We also know that Christmas is just around the corner, time to start planning for it and buying presents. I love this time of year.<\/p>\n

Of course, autumn is windy too which is great news for me. There isn’t a huge amount of wind as I write this at 6.30am on Monday – I’d be out windsurfing if there was, not sat in front of my iMac blogging, but the forecast for the week ahead looks good.<\/p>\n
