We had a few nice days weather-wise on the Isle of Man (as well of course as a few wet ones) so managed to get out for strolls in the countryside. Anna’s Mum has a bit of an allotment that she works on and there is a little apiary there so as budding beekeepers we popped up for a look. It’s in an ideal place and looked very organised making us realise that the bees we’re going to keep in our garden may not be quite so fortunate.<\/p>\n

We also went rock-pooling one day where we saw loads of shrimps, crabs, fish and of course limpets, barnacles and other marine wildlife and plenty of fossils in the Carboniferous rocks along the shore.<\/p>\n

On the way back we found a load of blackthorns for picking and spotted a whole load of day-flying Six-spot Burnet moths.<\/p>\n
