{"id":4931,"date":"2010-06-14T10:55:07","date_gmt":"2010-06-14T09:55:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/?p=4931"},"modified":"2010-06-14T10:55:07","modified_gmt":"2010-06-14T09:55:07","slug":"a-busy-day-in-west-wales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2010\/06\/a-busy-day-in-west-wales\/","title":{"rendered":"A Busy Day in West Wales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday was a good day, packed full of activities.<\/p>\n<p>I started off fairly early, sorting, counting and recording the contents of the <a title=\"Buying a moth trap\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2009\/buying-a-moth-trap\/\">moth trap<\/a>. Nothing unusual in there and no new species, but 21 different species and 60 moths in total. As my ID skills improve I&#8217;m getting quicker at going through the contents of the box now and even the recording them in my database and online is a little quicker.<\/p>\n<p>I did a little bit of work in the garden and then sat down and watched the Grand Prix qualifying from the day before. After that and a nice bacon and egg sandwich brunch Morgan and I sat in the beach room and did the <a title=\"Make your nature count results\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2010\/make-your-nature-count-results\/\">RSPB Make your Nature Count survey<\/a>. We didn&#8217;t see a huge number of birds but it was a nice way to spend an hour with Morgan.<\/p>\n<p>I wandered across to the beach to check the surf but there wasn&#8217;t any, so next on the agenda was some training. An hour on the turbo trainer doing a few pyramid sets and then a run along the beach in the rain doing intervals between the groynes. Morgan had some friends around to play while I was doing this so Anna was kept pretty busy entertaining them.<\/p>\n<p>After my exercise and a shower I then relaxed in front of the TV watching the Grand Prix, had a lovely roast dinner and a glass of wine. Then,\u00a0 just as the Grand Prix finished and I had finished my dinner the wind picked up. It wasn&#8217;t forecast to do so, but it appeared from nowhere and it looked pretty good so I rushed across to the beach with my windsurf kit and had a nice little windsurf session. It was good to get out on smaller kit for a change, even if the wind was short-lived and the session therefore shorter than I would have liked.<\/p>\n<p>All in all a good day here in West Wales.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday was a good day, packed full of activities.
