And so the amazing weather continues \u2014 sunshine, more sunshine, and then yet more sunshine. I heard on the news the other day that we\u2019ve had more sunshine this spring than we had throughout the entire summer last year. That\u2019s been reflected (well, absorbed actually) in our solar panel stats<\/a>, too, with record-breaking months throughout the season. March had the highest output for any March so far with 375 kWh. April followed suit with 490 kWh, and May is on track to do the same with 390 kWh already. I wonder how long this can last? Something tells me it\u2019ll make up for it with a very wet summer \u2014 no doubt just as I start backpacking along the Hebridean Way later in the year.<\/p>\n\n\n

The lack of rain means the grass is beginning to look a little brown and dry, but elsewhere in the garden things are thriving. Once again, I\u2019ve spent quite a bit of time out there this weekend, trying to keep things under control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday was spent on an epic mountain adventure with Morgan (more on that soon).<\/p>\n\n\n

Saturday was a day for gardening, with lots of weeding, cutting things back, clearing out the pond, scraping the cracks between the paving slabs, repotting, tidying the edges of the borders, and then shredding and composting. The chores are never-ending, but it\u2019s looking good. The bees seem to be loving it, and there are bugs and beasties everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
