Guess what, the third day of our holiday dawned, cold wet and miserable again, although after breaksfast there was a brief respite from the rain so we went to Kenfig Dunes for a wander around the National Nature Reserve.<\/p>\n
It’s kind of a home from home as we live amongst the dunes of Ynyslas but it was a nice walk. We had a chat to the warden and then went off in search of wildlife. We didn’t see a huge amount but we did look at leaf0miners in bramble leaves! I should have taken my GPSr and iPod as there is at least one geocache in the area but I’d left it in the caravan.<\/p>\n
We then headed off to Margam Park which we highly recommend. Parking it \u00a33.50 and that allows you access to the park and entrance to everything there (except the train ride and Go Ape!), making this the cheapest day out for us. As well as the impressive house there is a more impressive Orangery, walled gardens, monastic ruins, plenty of cool trees, Fairytale Land with miniature houses, and adventure playground, rare breeds farm, deer park, walks, lakes and plenty to do and see. We did of course get soaked when the heavens opened and had a miserable walk back to the car in the pouring rain. We got so wet that we all had to strip off in the car park before jumping into the car and trying to get warmed up.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
