I couldn’t resist a little walk in the Plynlimon Hills the other day. And what a lovely day it was too.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Cambrian Mountains don’t get enough exposure really, especially in comparison to their more rugged neighbours in North Wales. But nestled in the heart of Wales as part of the Cambrian Mountains they still offer plenty of space, plenty of tranquillity and even the odd challenge or two. The rolling nature means that they may not be as spectacular as the mountains of Snowdonia but they still have their appeal. The terrain can be quite difficult in places, it can be quite boggy too but the views are worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a completely still day without a puff of wind and therefore a little weird on the summits where there was simply no sound at all. It’s rare to find peace in the world today but here it was completely and utterly silent and there wasn’t a ripple on the waters of Nant y Moch or Llyn Llygad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ticked off a few summits, wandered around a little, stopped for lunch and then ran back down to the car after a pleasant afternoon in the hills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
