We’ve just got back from a family visit to Bristol. With Morgan planning to head off to Canada to work in a ski resort for the winter we also took the opportunity to do some shopping for some suitable clothing whilst there. Being Morgan, he’s off to Canada to work in a ski resort having only ever done a week of skiing on a school trip and without any gear! It’s going to be cold there so we thought he should at least have some warm clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family Visits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We took an easy drive down on Friday after work with Morgan asking lots of questions about the Fflecsibus I had caught earlier in the week! We soon arrived at my parents’ house where we had dinner and settled in for the night. It was about time that we caught up with everyone and good to see that it was business as usual. Not that we saw much of the family but we did see my parents and my sister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morgan was also hoping to visit a few of his friends who had started University at Bristol and Bath a few weeks earlier. He didn’t seem to have much of a plan as to who he was seeing and where but it would all work out somehow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Off to Bristol, Keynsham and Bath <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After breakfast and some chilling on Saturday we needed off to the large Go Outdoors in Brislington to look for some things for Morgan. It was rubbish, they had nothing there so we came away empty-handed. The next stop was fighting through the traffic to get to Keynsham where we dropped Morgan off at the railway station so that he could get the train into Bath. We left him to it. His plan as far as we knew was to meet friends in Bath and then head into Bristol to meet up with some other friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna and I drove a little further up the road towards Saltford and stopped off at the Flourish Farm Shop and Restaurant<\/a> for lunch. They also had some fast chargers so we took the opportunity to top up the car battery too. It was really busy here but the food was good. We then decided to head into Cabot Circus to wander around the shops and ended up looking mainly for things for Morgan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We did go to Ikea as well and ended up buying quite a lot of stuff there, including a nice new plant for my collection, a lamp for the conservatory, some new glasses and lots of snacks!<\/p>\n\n\n

We then headed back to my parents for a Chinese takeaway dinner. Fortunately, we didn’t have to go out again later as my sister wouldn’t be far from Yate station so managed to collect Morgan from the train station there at around 10:30 pm and bring him home. He’d had a good day in the city!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More Retail Therapy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sunday was a lazy start once again before we headed off. We decided that it would be a good idea to visit Snow and Rock – they had plenty of nice stuff but were a little too expensive so we headed back into central Bristol to show Morgan the suitable items we’d seen the day before. Finally, we came away with a warm jacket, and a fleece or two. With that done it was just the long drive back through Wales before we arrived home in time for dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The usual whistle-stop tour but it was good to see people and good to spend a day or two in the city! The cat seemed pleased to see us and quite likes her new rug too. It wasn’t meant for her of course, but she seems to think it was!<\/p>\n\n\n
