A Birthday Twist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s always nice to get some birthday surprises. Mine started a day early this year with a twisted ankle on a run in the woods. Not the sort of surprise I was hoping for and it meant no training for a few days. Not ideal as I\u2019d planned on doing a fair bit of exercise to compensate for the cake!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was another surprise when I got home that evening. The dining room had been transformed into some sort of birthday grotto. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Balloons, bunting and a \u2018Happy Birthday\u2019 banner to remind me that I was 50. That in itself is quite a surprise, how can I possibly be 50?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birthday Presents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My birthday proper started with some nice presents, all of which were surprises too. I didn\u2019t have any idea what I was getting. Amongst other things there was a giant, and very posh barometric weather clock by Bramwell Brown<\/a>. Calling it a \u2018barometric weather clock\u2019 doesn\u2019t really do it justice as It\u2019s more a piece of art than a clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Typically, once it had settled down it was pretty much displaying ‘Fair’ all day on Friday and Saturday. However, as I write this on Sunday it’s a wet and windy day, no surprises there, and the clock is indeed forecasting rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
