It is hoped that it that will make it more accessible to locals and visitors alike. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have been running a weather station that uploads live data every minute from Ynyslas to the web since 2005. Originally this was set up mainly for windsurfers and kite-surfers so that they could see what the weather was actually doing here on the beach before making a journey. Over the years I have added to the system and continued to develop it but the website that it was part of was still aimed at windsurfers and kite-surfers so I thought it was time to update it and make it available to all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The enforced &#8216;Stay at Home&#8217; due to the lockdown gave me some time to start work on this project and it&#8217;s now ready for prime-time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As anyone who has experienced a winter at Borth or Ynyslas will testify, things can be quite inhospitable here at times. In fact, some summers can be a little like that too! This takes a toll on the various electronics and other components of the weather station so maintenance and upkeep can be quite costly. A small subscription fee of \u00a320 per year to access the full data has always been charged so that supporters can help towards keeping it running. You can then drill deeper into individual pages for each of these parameters where you can explore more detailed data. These deeper pages include information such as trends over time, the extremes for the day, month, year and since recording began, the number of days it has rained this month and much more, along with various graphs and charts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Historical Data<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There is even access to historical data back to 2005 when recording began. The site displays a daily report with averages, maximums and minimums for every single day. So if you want to know how hot it got on your birthday in 2010 you can look it up. If you want to find out what the wind speed reached during Storm Dennis in February 2020 it&#8217;s just a few clicks away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As with anything on the Internet it is to some extent a work in progress so if you notice anything that isn&#8217;t quite right or have any feature requests just let me know and I&#8217;ll see what I can do.
