Clear blue skies, and sunshine but with quite a chill in the air. There was little wind either so a perfect day for a walk in the hills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First though I headed out for a paddle on my surf ski as I haven&#8217;t had chance to get out on it much since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2019\/11\/surf-ski-shopping\/\">buying it a few weeks ago<\/a>. I didn&#8217;t do much, just a gentle paddle from the beach outside our house out to the buoys over the Dyfi Bar and then into Aberdyfi itself. From here I went with the tide up the estuary to the beach at Plas Panteidal and then turned around for a bit of a slog against the tide back to where I started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe height='405' width='590' frameborder='0' allowtransparency='true' scrolling='no' src='https:\/\/www.strava.com\/activities\/2903487941\/embed\/df64f20108cd06cebe5f1a3a58f26248e2f5a413'><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Long Way Home<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna and I then headed into Cletwr Caf\u00e9 for brunch. After brunch Anna left me there to walk home whilst she drove home. Being me, I didn&#8217;t take the direct route him but instead headed off into the hills. Up through the Cletwr Valley with the river tumbling down the hillside to my right. I then headed off across the hills all the way to Talybont. I had some lovely views towards the estuary from here, with our house at Ynyslas in the distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Views-towards-Ynyslas.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"546\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Views-towards-Ynyslas.jpg\" alt=\"Views towards Ynyslas\" class=\"wp-image-31463\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Views-towards-Ynyslas.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Views-towards-Ynyslas-200x107.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><figcaption>Views towards Ynyslas<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Here I strolled through the woods, shuffling through thick carpets of autumnal leaves as I went. I then followed the paths down to the Riverside Caravan Park and across to Dol-y-Bont and then off to Borth where I followed the Leri home. Quite a long way round really but a lovely day for it and considering I had a heavy rucksack on, all good training for my upcoming Kilimanjaro trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe height='405' width='590' frameborder='0' allowtransparency='true' scrolling='no' src='https:\/\/www.strava.com\/activities\/2904974585\/embed\/bc59d01050fe13ff6c8cfc9c53d770201bef7bd7'><\/iframe>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sunday was a lovely day here in West Wales.
