The food is\nvery diverse, which means there\u2019s always something to satisfy the fussiest of\npalates. The range of different accommodation is vast, and there are a wide\nvariety of attractions to suit all ages. Enjoying a holiday in Spain isn\u2019t too\nmuch of a challenge as long as you plan carefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The\nBest Areas to Visit<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three main areas to consider when you\u2019re planning\nyour <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jamesvillas.co.uk\/destinations\/spain\/spain-holidays\">holidays\nin Spain<\/a>. The islands are the most obvious choice thanks to its beautiful\nbeaches and child-friendly attractions. The beaches have gentle waters which\nmakes bathing safe, and the attractions include water parks for the younger\nmembers of your family and water sports for the older and more adventurous\ntypes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barcelona is full of <a href=\"https:\/\/santorinidave.com\/barcelona-with-kids\">interesting and fun things\nto do<\/a> from theme parks and a chocolate museum through to beaches, gardens\nand interactive exhibitions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Spanish interior doesn\u2019t feature on many family\u2019s bucket\nlists which is a shame. It\u2019s worth considering because it\u2019s littered with tiny\nvillages, fascinating cities, and concentrations of castles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eating\nOut as a Family<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Eating out is often something parents dread, but it doesn\u2019t\nhave to be that way in Spain. Children are welcome almost everywhere, and you\nwon\u2019t get any funny looks if your kids run amok among the other diners. When\nyou\u2019re visiting in the summer, you can take advantage of the many outdoor\nterraces with tables that seem to be there just for parents with children. <a href=\"https:\/\/spanishsabores.com\/2015\/06\/17\/spain-dining-guide-when-are-spanish-mealtimes\/\">Spanish\neating hours<\/a> can be difficult to get used to, but there\u2019s always the option\nof shopping at the local market and preparing your own food in your\nself-catering villa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re out and about site-seeing, it\u2019s advisable to bring\nsomething with you as there will be times when there\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/capital\/story\/20170609-its-time-to-put-the-tired-spanish-siesta-stereotype-to-bed\">nothing\nopen<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Things\nfor Children to Do<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s plenty for children to do in Spain, whatever age they\nmight be. Adventure activities include rafting, kayaking, canyoning, canoeing\nand mountain biking. Activities are available for all levels and abilities, but\nit\u2019s always advisable to check before booking in case there are any age\nrestrictions. For those times when your kids don\u2019t need to be so physical there\nare castles to explore, horse shows to watch, fiestas and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelocal.es\/20190503\/feria-guide-spain-fair-april-fiesta-\">ferias\nto participate in<\/a> and much more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Spanish\nBeaches are Perfect for Children <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Along the Mediterranean coast, there are <a href=\"https:\/\/totstotravel.co.uk\/blog\/water-safety-on-holiday-tips-for-keeping-children-safe\/\">some\nspectacular beaches<\/a>, custom made for children. Many of them, particularly\nthose along the Costa Brava are sheltered from the open ocean by protective\ncoves. Others are tranquil stretches of calm waters that quietly lap the shore.\nBe warned that some of the beaches can get very crowded, but there are still\nquiet stretches of sand if you look carefully. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What\nto Bring with You<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re bringing young children with you, there are going\nto be a few things you might want to consider bringing with you, in case of\nemergency. However, in most cases, you\u2019ll be able to get most of what you need\nin Spain. Baby formula is available in both powder and liquid form. Sterilising\nsolutions can also be bought at most pharmacies. Disposable nappies can be\npurchased at supermarkets, and fresh cow\u2019s milk is sold in cartons and plastic\nbottles in supermarkets in big cities. In more remote areas and small towns,\nyou\u2019re likely to find only UHT milk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Getting\nAround<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Spain is well known for having a world-class transport\ninfrastructure. High-speed trains between major cities make the vastness of the\ncountry irrelevant. Travelling at such high speeds is an exhilarating way to\ntravel, and you probably won\u2019t need to convince your children to travel this\nway. Children under the age of 12 are entitled to discounts on public transport,\nand those under the age of 4 usually travel for free. If you decide to hire a\ncar, you should ask for car seats; although, be aware this is usually at an\nadditional cost. Taxis rarely have child seats, and you\u2019ll be expected to sit\nwith them on your lap with the seatbelt around both of you. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best times to visit in the summer are July and August;\nhowever, it\u2019s also the time when Spaniards take their annual holiday, and\nyou\u2019ll find many of them flocking to the coast. Travelling to the mountains can\nalso be done at this time of the year.
