When the day starts like this you know it\u2019s going to be a good one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan was a bike ride at 9:30am so I had a nice relaxed morning before getting ready to ride. I was hoping for an easy ride as my chest was sore and I was feeling under the weather thanks to the lurgy. Fortunately a nice easy bike ride was what I got as we gently rolled in Beddgellert from the campsite. We then essentially circumnavigated Snowdon, following the road past the bottom of the Rhyd Ddu path, the Snowdonia Ranger path and Snowdon Ranger hostel, past Llyn Cwyelyn and then on into Llanberis. The pace was slow and easy with me leading the way. It was a little chilly in the shade at first but it was a glorious day with only a light breeze. We stopped for a while due to a puncture. Fortunately there was mobile coverage here so I was able to get a quick message to Anna. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a steady ride through Llanberis it was on to the Nant Peris pass. I left the others behind as we left the town and started putting in some effort for the first time today. There was quite a headwind along the bottom of the valley and now I was on my own there was no shelter from it. I was soon onto the slopes of the climb and settled in for a long effort. It was a good climb too, not flat out but a decent push to the top. I then turned around and headed back down to pick up the tail-enders and do the top mile or so of the climb again. After a quick photo op at Pen y Pass it was all downhill back to the campsite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
