Monday was very wet and windy and almost wintry in nature. I managed a nice windsurf session<\/a> though and then we all headed out in Aberystwyth and for a drive around the local country lanes setting up a treasure hunt for the Scouts. The plan is to invite the community to take part in the treasure hunt which will have them driving around the local lanes answering various questions as they go. They’ll have to get out of their cars now and then to answer some of the questions and they should find out a few interesting facts along the way. Thanks to the weather though we didn’t get up to much else on our day off as a family but did have a nice dinner and made a our delicious cheesecake recipe<\/a>, but this time with fresh blackcurrants from the garden.<\/p>\n

Tuesday didn’t dawn much brighter, but the wind was howling so I had a very quick windsurf session<\/a>\u00a0in the morning before Anna headed off to work. Morgan and I then had to wait in for the Window people to come to measure up a few things, but once they were gone we headed off into the hills for some geocaching.<\/p>\n

First stop was up in the hills above Talybont alongside a field containing a herd of very frisky cows which Morgan\u00a0wasn’t too keen on. We were heading up to the trig point on top of the hill to a geocache named ‘Top Point Trig<\/a>‘. We ended up taking a slightly circuitous route to get to it but found it easily once we were there and were treated to some nice views down into the Dyfi Valley.<\/p>\n

I wanted to continue on up to Moel y Garn where another geocache is located but Morgan didn’t want to so we headed back to the car and drove over to the hills above Tre Ddol to finish off the ‘Chocolate Series’. We passed a nice bridge over the River Clettwr on the way, somewhere that I’d always thought would be a good location for a geocache myself, and an idea to set a series similar to our River Leri Crossings series, but this time River Clettwr Crossing series has been germinated. Although a quiet little spot, judging by the leaves on the ground here, we\u00a0weren’t the only people on this road today.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
