There are loads of really good mountain biking centres there and the new Red Run on Ben Nevis opens soon, June 24th to be precise. It is graded as a Red, XC route, but has a Gondola uplift to the start at 643m, and then a vertical drop of 543m to finish at the car park at a height of 100m. The overall length is around 5.5km and judging by the video below it looks amazing. Steep, rugged an tough but not too full on and scary like most downhill runs with gondola access. The timber sections look pretty mad as well, they&#8217;ve certainly gone to a lot of effort to build it.<\/p>\n<p>The Gondola uplift costs \u00a311.50 for a single trip or \u00a325 for a day an is open from 10.15am &#8211; 3.45pm.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"500\" height=\"405\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/GShyWn5RYoo&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0&#038;border=1\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><\/object><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bike.nevisrange.co.uk\/\">More info from the Nevis Range here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think I need to make a trip to Scotland soon.
