{"id":161,"date":"2006-12-06T10:23:09","date_gmt":"2006-12-06T10:23:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2006\/bow-street-tornado-appeal\/"},"modified":"2006-12-06T10:23:09","modified_gmt":"2006-12-06T10:23:09","slug":"bow-street-tornado-appeal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2006\/12\/bow-street-tornado-appeal\/","title":{"rendered":"Bow Street Tornado Appeal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I found this quite amusing!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">BOW STREET TORNADO APPEAL<br \/>\nA major hurricane (Hurricane Sauspan  Bach) and an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale hit Ceredigion in the early hours of Tuesday with its epicentre in Bow Street.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">Victims were seen wandering around  aimlessly, muttering &#8220;Faaackinell&#8221;.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">The hurricane decimated  the area causing   approximately \u00a330 worth of damage.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">Several priceless collections of mementos from Majorca  and the Costa del Sol were damaged beyond repair.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">Three areas  of historic burnt out cars were disturbed.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">Many locals were woken  well before their giros arrived.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">Radio Ceredigion reported that  hundreds of residents were confused<br \/>\nand bewildered and were still trying to  come to terms with the fact that something interesting had happened in Bow  Street.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">One resident &#8211; Tracy Sharon Smith, a 15-year-old mother  of 5<br \/>\nsaid, &#8220;It was such a shock, my little Chardonnay-Mercedes  came<br \/>\nrunning into my bedroom crying.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">My youngest two,  Tyler-Morgan and Victoria-Storm<br \/>\nslept through it all. I was still shaking  when I was skinning<br \/>\nup and watching Trisha the next  morning.&#8221;<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">Apparently looting, muggings and car crime were  unaffected and<br \/>\ncarried on as normal.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">The British Red Cross has  so far managed to ship 4,000 crates<br \/>\nof Sunny Delight to the area to help  the stricken locals.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">Rescue workers are still searching through  the rubble and have<br \/>\nfound large quantities of personal belongings,  including<br \/>\nbenefit books, jewellery from Elizabeth Duke at Argos and  Bone<br \/>\nChina from Poundland.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">HOW CAN YOU  HELP?<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">This appeal is to raise money for food and clothing parcels  for<br \/>\nThose unfortunate enough to be caught up in this  disaster.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">Clothing is most sought after &#8211; items most needed  include:<br \/>\nFila or Burberry baseball caps<br \/>\nKappa tracksuit tops (his and  hers)<br \/>\nShell suits (female)<br \/>\nWhite sport socks<br \/>\nRockport boots and any  other items usually sold in Primark.<br \/>\nFood parcels may be harder to come by,  but are needed all the same.<br \/>\nRequired foodstuffs include:<br \/>\nMicrowave  meals, Tins of baked beans, Ice cream, Cans of Colt<br \/>\n45 or  SpecialBrew.<br \/>\n22p buys a biro for filling in the compensation forms.<br \/>\n\u00a32  buys chips, crisps and blue fizzy drinks for a family of 9.<br \/>\n\u00a35 buys B&#038;H  and a lighter to calm the nerves of those affected.<br \/>\n***Breaking  news***<br \/>\nRescue workers found a girl in the rubble smothered in raspberry  alco-pop.<br \/>\n&#8216;Where are you bleeding from?&#8217; they asked, &#8221; PENPARCAU&#8221; said  the<br \/>\ngirl, &#8220;wossat gotta do wiv you?&#8221;<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font class=\"mediumtxt\">Please don&#8217;t forward this  to anyone living in Bow  Street &#8211; oh, sod<br \/>\nit, they won&#8217;t be able to  read it anyway.<!--Begin Template: viewthread_post_sig -->  <\/font><\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I found this quite amusing!
