{"id":15492,"date":"2014-01-29T18:21:15","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T18:21:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/?p=15492"},"modified":"2014-01-30T11:15:54","modified_gmt":"2014-01-30T11:15:54","slug":"west-wales-another-battering-forces-nature","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2014\/01\/west-wales-another-battering-forces-nature\/","title":{"rendered":"Is West Wales in for another Battering from the Forces of Nature?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The last battering we had from the weather a few weeks ago <a title=\"Aberystwyth Prom Storm Damage\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2014\/aberystwyth-prom-storm-damage\/\">destroyed the seafront in Aberystwyth<\/a> and made quite a <a title=\"Ynyslas Storm Damage\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2014\/ynyslas-storm-damage\/\">mess of Borth and Ynyslas<\/a> and resulted in us being <a title=\"Evacuated\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2014\/evacuated\/\">evacuated<\/a> from our house for the night. It looks as though it could all be repeated again this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The storm a few weeks ago was associated with a high tide of 5.5m. This weekend&#8217;s high tide is even bigger at a massive 5.7m and the forecast at the moment is for it to be accompanied by 40 knot winds and 5m swells. Could be time too batten down the hatches and hope the coasts of West Wales survive another onslaught from the Forces of Nature.<\/p>\n<p>There isn&#8217;t much we can do about it though and true forecast may well change by the time the weekend rolls around &#8211; fingers crossed as we are supposed to be camping in it!!<\/p>\n<h2>Details<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Saturday High Tides<\/strong>: 8:40am 5.6m and 9:01pm 5.3m<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday High Tides:<\/strong> 9:22am 5.7m and 9:43pm 5.2m<\/p>\n<p>Winds looks set to be at their strongest on Saturday afternoon when the swell will reach a peak as well.
