The wind peaked just after dark at 16:29, hitting 62.6 knots (that&#8217;s just over 72mph) recorded by the <a title=\"Borth and Ynyslas Weather Station\" href=\"http:\/\/www.forces-of-nature.co.uk\/dbdriven\/home\/weather_station.php\">Borth &amp; Ynyslas weather station<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I think we may have lost all of our garden furniture, dustbins and other things in the garden that weren&#8217;t firmly secured though. I\u00a0haven&#8217;t been out to check yet as it&#8217;s been too dark.<\/p>\n<p>It had been fairly windy on and off for the past few days, but nothing quite like this. 20-30 knots was about the average throughout the day but you can see from the chart below that at around 4:30pm just after the barometer readings had hit a low for the day there was an almighty gust that coincided with a squall and a torrential downpour.
