Well, I think yesterday was Day 20 of Summer – And what a summer it has been. They had been promising rain for a few days though and we did finally get some. The weather during the day was lovely once again. My early morning run at 7am was done under clear blue skies and temperatures already in the 20’s despite the early hour. Needless to say that after 8x 75 second hill reps on the coast path I was sweating a little, especially as my legs were a little sore from circuits the night before.<\/p>\n

I put in a good effort on the hill reps though and managed to do each one just slightly faster than the previous one. The Heart Rate and Elevation data made nice graphs too!<\/p>\n

Once back at home Morgan and I then investigated the contents of the moth trap<\/a> which takes longer than you can imagine by the time we have counted them all, caught the ones we need to photograph and identify, then we need to actually identify them by searching for them in\u00a0various books, take photos of them, log them, record them in a database and then post about them on the weblog. It was nearly 11 o’clock by the time we’d done all this so I had quite a late breakfast!<\/p>\n

Anna was off work today as well and had been busy watering plants in the greenhouse and harvesting fruit and veg from the garden. The rest of the day was spent in town where the clouds gathered and finally, while we were sat on the prom there were a few spots of rain.\u00a0Only a few though and not even enough to make us move.<\/p>\n

Once back at home I headed out for a little evening cycle and managed to stay dry for that too. It took in a couple of the local hills and I even managed to claim a Strava KOM<\/a> on one segment and increased my position on a couple of other segments.\u00a0Admittedly\u00a0they weren’t particularly competitive segments, but I surprised myself all the same as my legs were suffering from the early morning run. I rarely get any muscle soreness after training these days, but it’s time to pick up the intensity and volume at the moment so\u00a0I’m hitting myself hard and making it hurt!<\/p>\n
