I’m sure we weren’t the only ones, but we spent much of Bank Holiday Monday in the garden. I also went for a gorgeous swim in the sea. The water temperature was up to 9\u00b0C and the air temperature made it to 14.9\u00b0C so the cold was no longer an issue and I had a pleasant swim in the sunshine. I also did a bike ride as well and it was nice to be out in just shorts and short-sleeved top without feeling cold at any stage.<\/p>\n
Things are coming on well in the garden now and it is beginning to look nice so it was good to be able to spend some time in it enjoying it rather than working too hard to get on top of it. Although the loud bangs and shaking thanks to a warship off the coast<\/a> kind of ruined the peace a little. Morgan and I sowed lots of seeds into pots and labelled them all\u00a0judiciously. Runner Beans, Exotic Beans, Pumpkins, Swede, Parsnips and Sweet Peas were all sown and placed in the greenhouse. Many of the seeds we put in the greenhouse for the Scouts<\/a> are beginning to germinate as well which is good.<\/p>\n We have started to harden off our pelargonuims<\/em>. These have been sat in the conservatory all winter merrily flowering away so the plan now is to harden them off by placing them outside during the day and then in June they will be moved to the\u00a0graveled\u00a0seating area<\/a> for the summer. Elsewhere, now that May is here the bluebells are bursting into life and the Forget-me-nots are creating a lovely blueish mist in various places around the garden. The purple Grape Hyacinths are doing well also.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
