We went to the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff on Saturday. We made an early start,\u00a0leaving the house at just after 6am so that we could get to a running shop to buy some new shoes for me when they opened at 9.30am. We then drove to Cardiff Bay parked and wandered over to the Dr. Who Experience just across a bridge from the impressive Wales\u00a0Millennium\u00a0Centre.<\/p>\n

We don’t come to Cardiff much so none of us had seen it since the redevelopment of the waterfront. Despite the gloomy, grey, cold conditions we have to say that it did all look quite nice. It was a little too cold for wandering around exploring though and we had lots to do so we simply glanced at the new (to us) buildings as we drove \/ walked past and headed over to the equally impressive looking building that houses the Dr. Who Experience.<\/p>\n

The Doctor Who Experience<\/p><\/div>\n

Anna and I aren’t really Doctor Who fans, having never really watched it, even when we were younger. Morgan is quite into Doctor Who at the moment which was our reason for visiting, although it has to be said he\u00a0isn’t a Dr. Who Geek. He simply watches the current episodes but\u00a0isn’t into the past episodes or any of the ‘Doctor Who Culture’. The same can’t be said for the other people who were on the tour with us. Morgan was the only person under the age of consent and we were the only ones without neck-beards and an\u00a0encyclopedic\u00a0knowledge of the Doctor Who series from Day 1. I’m pretty sure most of the other people with us had a sonic-screwdriver in one pocket and were probably wearing Doctor Who branded underwear too.<\/p>\n

The tour was\u00a0fairly\u00a0good with a few exhibits and video to watch as we were guided through a mini Doctor Who \u00a0adventure. We then came out into an\u00a0exhibition\u00a0hall that contained many exhibits of actual props and costumes used in the filming of the various Doctor Who episodes. It was all quite interesting but as we aren’t really huge fans not quite as exciting for us as it was for the other people on the tour.<\/p>\n

The whole thing only took about 90 minutes but Morgan\u00a0enjoyed it and bought a couple of posters from the shop.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
