I do love Christmas – It may be a little stressful in the run up, but the lights, the parties and the anticipation help to ease the stress. Morgan starts to get excited, Santa’s on his way and its time to enjoy some time as a family. I even sit down and watch some films on the TV.<\/p>\n

This year was no\u00a0exception. The house was full of food, presents had been bought and wrapped and we were ready to go. We had even treated ourselves to an evening out at the cinema watching The Hobbit the day before Christmas Eve.<\/p>\n

Christmas Eve itself was a dark, dreary and very wet day here in West Wales. The flood water was rising in the garden and the rain was falling all day long. That didn’t stop Morgan and I donning our waterproofs and going out to do a geocache. It not only gave Anna a bit of time to sort out a few final bits and pieces but we had fun tromping through the mud and puddles and hopefully the fresh air and the walk would tire Morgan out a little.<\/p>\n

Morgan was keen to go to bed early so that Santa could come and so that Christmas Day would be upon him sooner. He headed off to bead at around 8pm. He was just too excited to sleep though and by the time we were ready for bed at around 11pm he was still awake – Santa had yet to come, Anna and I wanted to go to bed but Morgan just\u00a0couldn’t sleep. He was just trying too hard. He desperately wanted to sleep but just couldn’t. We tried everything. He snuggled into bed with us, although we didn’t want to fall asleep ourselves before he did! He listened to an audio book, and he led there quietly for hours but just couldn’t sleep. In the end it\u00a0was all too much for him and he was started to get upset. He was worried that he would never get to sleep and that Santa\u00a0wouldn’t be able come – we were getting a little worried about it ourselves too. There were almost some tears as he began to think that his\u00a0inability\u00a0to sleep might mean that Christmas wasn’t going to happen, but thankfully at around 2.30am he did finally manage to drift off. Relief all round, Morgan was asleep, Anna and I could now think about sleeping ourselves and Santa could finally leave presents under the tree.<\/p>\n

The late night did mean that Morgan wasn’t up at 3.30am as he was last year, but he came into us at around 7:30 with his stocking full of presents that Santa had left. Phew, he had managed to come after all! There were presents under the tree as well so after a quick breakfast the unwrapping began.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
