First and apology for the lack of posts here recently, but I’ve been on the holiday of a lifetime in New Zealand and was without\u00a0Internet access.<\/p>\n
Second a precautionary tale that I shall be making up for this over the next days and weeks with a day by day account of our trip. I turn our blog into a printed book each year so will want all of the details of the trip in that which means you’ll have to put up with it here as well. Hopefully it’ll be pretty interesting though, so thirdly, here’s a quick preview.<\/p>\n
The trip was, as the Kiwi’s would say, ‘Awesome’. It involved somewhere around 24,000 miles of flying, 3,000 miles of driving, 5 nights in Auckland, a World Championship Triathlon race, volcanoes and painted toes, boat trips and hot dips,\u00a0mud pools and waterfalls,\u00a0\u00a0giant trees and kiwis,\u00a0surf and turf, lakes and cakes, zip lines and good times.<\/p>\n
There’s loads to tell, so tell it I will. The Triathlon went well, Auckland is a lovely city, the\u00a0countryside\u00a0is just the way we like it. We managed to pack loads into our 3 weeks there. I even did a bonus race in the form of a road race around Lake Rotorua. You’ll have to wait for the details, but that went well too. The surf was good, the food was good, the scenery was good and we all had a fantastic time.<\/p>\n
