So, shortly after I <a title=\"ITU Age-Group World Championship Qualification\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2012\/itu-age-group-world-championship-qualification\/\">qualified for Team\u00a0GB<\/a> back in May I put out a <a title=\"Seeking Sponsorship\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2012\/seeking-sponsorship\/\">plea for potential sponsors and donations<\/a>. I wasn&#8217;t sure what the response would be like, especially in the current economic climate, but I&#8217;m pleased to report that plenty of people have helped me along the way. So, I want to take this opportunity to say a massive thank-you to all those who have helped &#8211; it really is hugely appreciated.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First off the line were <a title=\"Self Catering Holiday Accommodation in Borth\" href=\"http:\/\/aberlericottages.co.uk\/\">Aberleri Seaside Cottages<\/a>. The did say that they didn&#8217;t necessarily want any advertiseing or exposure from it and they were donating because, and I quote:<br \/>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We want to help you out\u00a0because you&#8217;re a decent chap,\u00a0you&#8217;ve helped us out in the past and you deserve it.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In some ways those sentiments mean more to me than the money did.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ceredigion\u00a0County Counci<\/strong>l have an &#8216;International Athletes Fund&#8217; which entitled me to \u00a3200 from them &#8211;\u00a0Diolch hefyd i Gyngor Sir Ceredigion.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Borth Community\u00a0Council<\/strong> have also pledged \u00a350 towards my race funds, although I&#8217;m not quite sure how I get hold of that money yet.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Geoscience Wales\" href=\"http:\/\/www.geoscience-wales.co.uk\">Geoscience Wales<\/a> have recently promised to pay my race entry fee.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Aberystwyth Sports Centre\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aber.ac.uk\/en\/sportscentre\/\">Aberystwyth University Sports Centre<\/a> have helped along the way and the staff there have all been very helpful, supportive \u00a0and excited about the race too.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Beet It\" href=\"http:\/\/www.beet-it.com\/athletes\/\">Beet-it<\/a> have accepted me as one of their &#8216;Pro performance athletes&#8217; &#8211; It&#8217;s not a proper sponsorship deal but I do get cheap Beetroot juice which I drink every day. Not only is it delicious but it is supposed to make you go faster!<\/li>\n<li>My <strong>Mum &amp; Dad<\/strong> bought me a <a title=\"Go Faster Hat\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/2012\/go-faster-hat\/\">pointy hat<\/a> to make me go faster as well.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Bike Box Alan\" href=\"http:\/\/bikeboxalan.co.uk\/\">BikeBox Alan<\/a> gave me a good deal on a Bike box for the trip to New Zealand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;m still looking out for a sponsorship deal from a triathlon related business though so if you are interested then please <a title=\"Contact me\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alananna.co.uk\/blog\/contact\/\">get in touch<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Plenty of individuals, mainly clients and\/or friends have donated too:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jan &amp; Tony,<\/li>\n<li>Punch Maughan,<\/li>\n<li>Bill Fitches,<\/li>\n<li>Willis Marrow,<\/li>\n<li>Pat McClure,<\/li>\n<li>Peter Dewland<\/li>\n<li>Darren Smith<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#8217;s not too late to join them.
