Thank you very much for answer, Alan. Yes, I understand PLB is not as much necessary for WHW. My question is connected with my other trails I’m planing.
I did some trails in Caucasus, last year did Fimmvörðuháls and Laugavegur trails on Iceland and was thinking about safety improvement (I go solo). After reading your posts about WHW I landed on this page and returned to idea to go out with better safety background. I think Garmin InReach will be my favorite.

Thanks Carlos. I didn’t take a PLB with me on the WHW, but I did have a RescueMe PLB for kayaking. I’ve now got an iPhone 15 which has satellite messaging capabilities, but the service doesn’t work in all countries so when I went to the Balkans last year I got a Garmin InReach which is what I use now (along with my phone).
