In reply to Alan Cole.

I couldn't resist a little look at them today. I didn't see the queen, but they have been busy drawing out new comb and have taken down all of the syrup I fed them so I'm hoping they are liking it here and are planning to stay.

The other two colonies in the apiary seemed happy enough as well.

In reply to Emily.

They are still there as well which is good news. Not much I can do other than leave them to it now and hope they like it here. I have reconfigured the apiary a little this morning so that the spare hive isn't quite as close to the others as it was. I tidied up the grass around the hives while I was there and opened up the entrance block fully on the hive with the caught swarm in it. They didn't all come out and attack me so hopefully they are fairly chilled bees.

It's been very windy out there today but the bees seem to be coming and going from all three colonies despite the wind and the are enjoying the hot sunny weather. Time to be vigilant though as I'm sure some of them must be thinking about swarming soon.
