OVO Energy Women’s TOur

I had a slightly different day at work on Friday. Rather than the usual day in the office and labs at the University it was off to Builth Wells for a schools outreach day at the OVO Energy Women’s Tour.

It did mean that Marco and I had an early start and a drive through Wales to get there. We then set up our stall, set up the Watt Bike that we’d be using to let the kids have a go at a 6 second sprint test and then waited for the fun to begin. We did have chance to wander over to the shop for a snack and to take a look at the ‘historic bikes’ stand before the first of the school groups arrived.

The kids seemed to enjoy competing with each other to see who could get the highest peak power readings. There were a few who were pretty good too.

We then had chance to watch the pro riders enter the showground and cross the finish line with Britains Lizzie Deignan in first place.

Finish Line

Nice to get out of the office for a day.
