A Prickly Visitor
Look who we’ve had visiting our garden.
It’s the first time we’ve seen a hedgehog here but we’ve now seen it a couple of times this past week or so. I’m not sure what it’s doing out in the daylight though.

Very cute , Kia and family have bought an African pigmy hedgehog as a pet !
I read that hedgehogs in the daylight can sometimes be mums looking for food for their hoglets. The advice given was to judge on whether they look healthy and walking with purpose. If not take to a wildlife shelter. Hope yours is ok.
I’m hoping so to. It did wander off quite purposefully back under a big tangle of honeysuckle as soon as I approached it and it looked in pretty good condition. Hopefully it was just a mother looking for bedding material or food for her hoglets as it wasn’t that warm out there.
