The Garden Grows
I may not have been able to mow the lawn this week but at least things are looking good elsewhere in the garden. With Storm Hector hitting Wales I half expected it to look a mess out there but thankfully we didn’t get any massive winds and the storm itself was short-lived. temperatures remained quite high and the rain we had was welcomed as far as the garden was concerned. There are a few bit of damage and win-burn here and there but nothing you’d really notice. The growth is beginning to get a little unruly but there are splashes of colour all over and the signs of soft fruit almost ready for picking. FOxgloves, lupins, loosestrife, mallow, spirea, lillies and irises are all adding colour to the garden. The cordyline flower and honeysuckle are adding scent.

Even the new tomato plants that I’m experimenting with under the lean-to have survived.

The lean-to has proved to be good for germinating seeds and bringing on seedlings and rooting of cuttings. I’m now hoping it will work well for the tomatoes as well.
