Summer Continues

The gorgeous summer weather continues here. 25.5ºC yesterday which was plenty hot enough, especially for lawn mowing! 20ºC today was mouch more comfortable and lovely blue skies throughout. The sea is feeling as though summer is here and the garden is growing well.

I had a busy day on Monday, starting off the day with a lovely open water swim. I was on my own today so headed from Borth around to Aberwennol and back and then looped around the reefs. The aire temperature at 6:30am was 16ºC so getting ready in the summer sunshine was quite toasty even at that time of the day. The water is warming up quite a bit but there wasn’t much to see today. It was still the perfect start to the week.

Next was a bike ride which involved intervals along the grassy track by the Leri. This was followed by a very short run. Very short as my achilles is still sore. It was sore when I first started but when I finished (literally 5 minutes later) it felt OK and it wasn’t sore afterwards either. That’s certainly an improvement over recent attempts at running even if it was only a 5 minute run.

I then spent a couple of hours cleaning, washing, waxing, polishing and vacuuming the camper. Ramsey, our camper van is now gleaming!

Next up was lawn mowing and gardening for a couple of hours before heading into Borth to collect Morgan from the school bus. We then headed over to the beach. Morgan to go to surf school and I went for a surf ski. My wrist was hurting by now. I think it was brought on by the bumpy hard efforts on the CX bike earlier in the day, but the lawn mowing and van polishing probably didn’t help. I therefore had a nice steady paddle to Aberdovey and back before playing in the small waves for a while. Anna met us on the beach and had a little paddle, then we headed home for dinner and a chilled evening at home. Life is so much fun when the sun is shining.
