Summer Colours

The sky is blue and the sun is shining once again. 22ºC at the moment and we must be getting used to this as it doesn’t feel hot, just pleasantly warm. Unusually though there are some white fluffly clouds in the sky today.

Things are looking OK in the garden with some nice bright colours despite the parched look of the ‘lawn’.

It’s quite a mixture of colours, admittedly mainly green but there are splashes of brightness here and there.

The Veg border is doing well too with courgettes and sweetcorn on the way. We’ve had loads of rhubarb this year. Elsewhere in the garden are raspberries ripe for picking. Under the lean to the tomatoes are on their way too.

On top of that we are once again Beekeepers.

Bees

Thanks to a donation of unwanted bees from Ann we have a small colony at the bottom of the garden again. We’ve left them in the nuc box for a while but will soon transfer them into a proper hive. They have a queen that is a couple of years old and Ann isn’t sure what they’ll do. They are only a small colony at the moment but if this weather keeps up they should have no excuses for not building up to become sizeable enough to get through the winter. We’ll see.
