Paddling out 2018

With the year 2018 drawing to a close there was just enough time for a bit more surf ski paddling. Sunday was an exploratory trip from Abersoch to Pwllheli. News Years Eve and I was back on home waters in the waves at Ynyslas. Abersoch to Pwllheli This looked like a good route for a...

Free Food…. Gone!

I’ve posted a few times lately about the various Food Boxes we’ve been ordering. These have been from the likes of Gousto, Hello Fresh and MyCookbox. We even had a Hello Fresh Christmas Dinner Box. Food Box Referrals For the most part we only buy them when we have a special offer or we have...

Grey Waves

It’s that time of year between Christmas and New Year. We’re all at home, there’s loads of food to be eaten and there’s not much happening. This year it’s also pretty grey and uninteresting out there. Thursday was drizzly and still to start the day so I headed out for a nice easy run. I’ve...

Boxing Day in the Sea

Well, it’s been pretty grey here for the last few days. Cheerful enough indoors though and I of course couldn’t resist getting into the sea anyway. The beach looked quiet first thing on Boxing Day. There were rumours of a mas swim in Borth at Midday so I headed down there for a swim too....

Christmas Eve Surf Ski with Mark and Owain

It feels like ages since I’ve been out on my ski or done any exercise of any kind. All due to some sort of man-flu lurgy. It might feel like ages but it’s actually only been a week – that’s more than enough time off for me. So, when I saw a little bit of...

Christmas Cake Decorating

Having baked the Christmas cake quite a few weeks ago, it was finally time to start decorating it today. I used a different recipe for the cake this year and had been feeding it with brandy for about 6 weeks. It seemed a little more moist than cakes of previous years but was looking good....

Christmas Lunch in a Box

Food Boxes We’ve been doing well with our boxes of food this year. Gousto, Hello Fresh and MyCookbox have all been living up to expectations and better still, thanks to the referral program and people using our links to sign up to receive cut price boxes we’ve earned lots of free boxes ourselves as well....

Surf Ski Repair

Well, that was a nice quick turn around – I should be back on the water in my surf ski now. After further inspection, the crack in my surf ski didn’t seem quite as bad as it first looked. It was only superficial damage to the gel coat, but I thought I’d get it checked...

Signs of Spring?

It doesn’t feel as though we’ve even started Winter yet. Regardless, there are already signs of Spring in the garden with Daffodil shoots, Periwinkle flowers, flower buds on the Hellebore and even some rhubarb shoots breaking through the soil. It’s not looking very Spring-like out over the sea this morning though.
