Surf Ski Practice

I’ve managed to get out and do a little more surf ski practice. My last post about my new surf ski said

“Just how many ways can we fall off a surf ski? More ways than there are to stay on one it would seem.”

Well, just to balance that out, here’s a short video clip of some surf ski practice in Borth in calmer waters. This time I managed to stay upright and dry. It may not be nearly as entertaining as the previous video but it shows that I can do it.

Surf Ski Practice

OK, my paddling technique leaves a lot to be desired but in my defence I was still concentrating on staying up the right way. A few more sessions like that and I’ll gain some balance and confidence and will be able to start concentrating on paddling instead. Hopefully I’ll get better in the rougher stuff too. I might have to as it seems as though summer has deserted us now that the longest day has passed. The nights are drawing in and autumn seems to have us in it’s grips already. If that’s the end of summer then any subsequent surf ski practice is likely to be in choppier seas.
