School Trip to France

It seemed like we had been planning it for ages, I’m sure it was before Christmas that we were paying for it!

But finally the day came where we started the long journey to France. We left Aber at 5:15am and arrived in Paris at 8:30pm.

The next day we went into Paris and we were in a big traffic jam right next to the Arc de Triumph, although I didn’t see it even though my mum is sure that I did.

We went up a big tower in Paris, but no, it wasn’t the Eiffel Tower, it was one next to it. Our teachers said this was because you couldn’t take pictures of the Eiffel Tower if you inside the Eiffel Tower.

Before we got the lift up. The 94th floor, we had to go through security and one of my friends set the metal detector off because he had coins in his pocket. And my teacher was right, it was a good view! After we’d been up the Tower we went for a boat trip on the river Seine I time-lapsed a bit of it, here it is.

For dinner that night we went to a weird restaurant where you have to pick your drink, starter and pudding before you picked your main course. I picked beef for my main course… I think. The pudding wasn’t very nice, it was like strawberry sorbet, with mushy, stale digestive biscuits, mixed with mud.

The next day we went to Parc Asterix. It wasn’t that much of a drive, but when we got there we were 1 hour early. But that was fine because we could still go through security. The main point of the trip was to come to Parc Asterix, which is a big theme park. The first ride we went on was a small water ride with little drop at the end, although we didn’t get very wet. After a bit of wandering round we saw a really big water ride, but we didn’t find the entrance. So we went and found different rides. After lunch we found the entrance to the big water ride and it was so good. There was a big drop halfway through and you got really wet, but then at the end you got completely drenched. We went on lots of other rides, and then the time finally came when we had to go back and meet the teachers.

As soon as we got out of the park we had to start the long journey back to Wales. When we got to the tunnel, which I hadn’t been on before, we had to show our passports. The tunnel wasn’t what I was expecting, it was a thin compartment with barely any space for the coach. I didn’t sleep at all.
