Swell SUP Surfing

Impatient Al… Yep, that’s me. The surf was looking amazing on Wednesday afternoon but I had to wait for Morgan to get home before I could get in the sea. In the end I met him from the bus on my bike so that I could give him a ‘backie’ home. It was quicker than walking and with all our surf gear ready to go we were soon on the beach and surfing our socks off.

The swell had dropped off a little by now so there was no use for my little 6’4″ thruster but the waves were perfect for SUP surfing. The air temperature was around 24ºC, the same was warm, the sun was shining and the waves were perfect. What more could we want.

Unfortunately my GoPro camera was ripped off it’s new mounting position on my board after the first wave so I don’t have much footage, but here’s the first wave of the day… It got better than this and I started getting quite a feel for the board as well. By the end I was standing further back and carving it around a little more aggressively and messing around hanging 5 off the nose too. Lovely.
